Meelup Beach is a stunning piece of paradise located at Meelup Regional Park in the Margaret River Wine region of Australia’s South West.
The water is shallow, calm, azure blue and crystal clear – it looks just like a post card.
There are tall trees, plant life, shade and grass which grows in abundance thanks to Meelup’s rare north east positioning which protects it from salty south westerly winds.
There is lots of parking, BBQ facilities, public toilets, picnic benches, showers and during summer school holidays there are life guards, paddle board and canoe hire.
Meelup is a perfect place for a picnic but if you are looking to treat yourself the Eagle Bay Brewery is only a five minute drive away.
My idea of heaven is to share a long leisurely lunch with loved ones at the Eagle Bay Brewery and then spend the afternoon swimming at Meelup Beach.
